Using Hummingbird Robotics kits, the 6th grade constructed carnival rides that utilized motors, lights, and coding.

First Grade Models the Structure of the Ear

How does the ear work? The first grade studied the structure of the ear as part of their sound studies. They explored the outer structure, and modeled the inner structure using cones and cups to represent the ear canal and ear drum.

First Grade Shadow Puppet Plays 2019

This was a collaborative project between literacy, art and STEM.  The students wrote their own scripts, created and engineered their own puppets, and performed their plays for student audiences in our school.

Vermont Technical College Bridge Competition 2019!

Woodstock Elementary and Prosper Valley Schools participated together in the VTC Popsicle Stick Bridge Competition.  Our schools did very well in the competition, with our bridges taking over 200 to almost 900 pounds of pressure before breaking.  Special congratulations go to Jack Quicker and Lucy Drebitko, who took first place for Originality of Design - with their double arched bridge - which supported 811 pounds.  See the bridges and the "crushings" below.
