We studied the difference between solids and liquids. Then we asked, is OOBLECK a solid or a liquid?
The Woodstock Elementary School STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) Innovation Lab and Makerspace is an exploratory learning space that strives to infuse the STEM disciplines into the broader curriculum. We have established a science, engineering and design learning lab in its own dedicated space, preparing our students today with the critical thinking, designing, engineering and problem solving skills they need to fill the jobs of tomorrow!

Third Grade Digitally Designs Wooden Ornaments
Woodstock received a grant at the very end of last year from Hypertherm to assist WES in purchasing a small, classroom sized CNC (carving) machine.
Having a CNC available in the STEM Lab allows students to turn their ideas into 3D wooden pieces and engages them deeply in the digital design and engineering process in their learning.
Using a digital design program called Easel, with interfaces with a CNC that Third Grade students created ornaments for their families.
