Using our new Vernier Temperature Probes to Experience a Chemical Reaction

Baking Soda and Vinegar
When added together undergo a chemical reaction.  One of the key indicators of a chemical reaction is temperature change.  The students are determining whether it is an exothermic or endothermic reaction.

We were awarded a $900 grant from VASE, the Vermont Academy of Science and Engineering, to buy five Vernier temperature probes, and five Labquest Minis (the digital probe interface) These are great because they can be used with chrome books and you can see a temperature change graph in real time.
