Woodstock Elementary School has begun our annual Everybody Engineering Week challenge project. Each team has members from every grade, 1st-6th, with 6th graders acting as project leaders. Our challenge this year is to build a popsicle stick tower that can hold 500 g using nothing but a box of popsicle sticks and Elmer's glue. Monday was a team building and planning day, and today construction began! We will meet Monday through Friday (8:15 to 10:15) to work with our teams to create a unique tower each team can be proud of.
The Woodstock Elementary School STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) Innovation Lab and Makerspace is an exploratory learning space that strives to infuse the STEM disciplines into the broader curriculum. We have established a science, engineering and design learning lab in its own dedicated space, preparing our students today with the critical thinking, designing, engineering and problem solving skills they need to fill the jobs of tomorrow!
