First Grade Biomimicry Investigation

First graders are wrapping up their life science structure, function and information processing unit by studying biomimicry.  Their lessons on Biomimicry focus on how humans look to the natural world to solve problems.  In this lesson, they are testing how blubber helps to keep polar animals warm.

Catapult Construction and Competition



Fifth and Sixth Grades have been making catapults and trebuchets in STEM in coordination with their Social Studies topic of the middle ages.  We learned the difference between catapults and trebuchets, and the physics of projectiles.
